Bought the heavy duty one thinking it would last. Its lifespan was about a year and a half. The fiber cord started to fray a few months ago, then broke the other day. On a side note, the plastic housing is pretty cheap, wish they offered a metal version.

I've had a KeyBack for 8 years. While recommending it to a colleague I notice the string seemed frayed. I ordered a new Heavy Duty but the reel is smaller than the old and doesn't seem as strong. Hopefully I received the correct one. Gave 5 stars based on the old one. Hopefully this one holds up

So far so good. It has a very smooth functionality, appears to be durable.
Hopefully the cord is Kevlar, so I can get several years of use.

Bought my 2nd key bak 21. I work 2 different buildings have to lock and unlock and lots of doors and carry different key. I just clip this to my belt and never have to worry about leaving or losing keys anywhere and chain reaches door locks so fast and easy.

My new KeyBak is just like the one I got in the mid 1970's! With the belt loop I don't have to worry about losing it like I did with my first KeyBak with the belt clip.

I have bought retractable lanyards before and they didn't hold up.... but when I found this company, and explained the problems we were having with ours, they recommended these. Huge difference! Never a single problem with any of them now! When we ended up hiring more staff, we didn't bother running to the big box store... we contacted this company once again and ordered more!

I bought the SIDEKICK® TWIST-FREE CARABINER RETRACTABLE KEYCHAIN on Amazon, which made it easy to verify how long it's been in service. Yesterday while heading to my barn it finally failed. The Kevlar line detached at the keys end. It lasted one week shy of SIX YEARS PLUS ONE MONTH! I used it nearly everyday. New one arrives tomorrow but the local locksmith told me that this retractable keychain may have a lifetime warranty so I'll be looking into that. OVER 6 years and around $10.

To be fair, I've only this about a month or so, but so far, it's holding up quite well.

As an ER Trauma nurse, I need a badge buddy that can keep up. The SIDEKICK is able to hold multiple badge buddies and keys without drooping. Completely satisfied, but the housing broke in half 2 months after the warranty expired. 4 stars as I wish it lasted longer.

It does what its intended to but the tether cord is already wearing out and its not like im using it all day and pulling on it all the time. Kind of disappointed in the quality

It's nice to have my badge and work key at hand without having to dig through my pockets. Build quality is top notch too. This isn't some cheap crap you get as a freebie from work.

Overall, I am pleased with this sturdy badge holder. After almost one year of use, the lanyard and retractable badge reel have held up to dozens of pulls each day, with no sign of wear or fatigue. However, the snap on the vinyl badge holder failed after just two months of use. I tried to hold the snap together with some electrical tape, but that eventually failed as well. So, I moved my badges to the split ring instead.

The cords keep pulling out of the break-away lugs rendering these very non-secure. Would NOT recommend.

I keep my nut tool for climbing on one of these. It's fast, convenient, and keeps my rack tidy. It's been out in some rough conditions and gets jacked around sometimes (chimneys, ya know?) but keeps functioning perfectly. Highly recommend this application.

Works great, I use it to fasten a vallet key to the underside of my dash for convience when needing to warm up car in the winter and then going in and out of the house. I didnt want a chincy one I was going to have to replace over and over again and this one seems like its going to work nicely.

I bought 3 of these. So far they are doing well except one. One of them had a belt clip failure.

I've had the previous incarnation of this KEY-BAK for over a decade. I finally wore out the cord. I've been using the new,improved SUPER48 Plus Ambidextrous Heavy Duty Retractable Keychain for a couple of weeks and I am impressed. The double-sided exits
(Ambidextrous) are a major improvement, and the bigger locking belt clip easily goes on my widest belts. I expect more than a decade's use of this new one, so it'll be a long time until I'll write my next review. Thank You!

I like the ptoduct ok but it needs to be a bit stronger. It doesnt always retract after using. It wants to remain extended with my keychain hanging so I have to reengage it to close.

i like the product for the most part. but its massive, and after a week the mechanism is already not working great. sticking in spots and not spooling back properly. will be looking into other products for my needs.

I like this product. I used it to cheat my busy forgetfulness. I used it to tether my Leatherman multi-function tool. This forced me to ensure that I would not lose my tool after setting it down while busy with other things. Setting it down on the bumper of an RV is a sure way to lose it. After use I would put the tool in my pocket still tethered firmly on my belt and go about my day. The locking mechanism provides plenty of range for use without tension. The feature that would make this an undisputed excellent product is a reinforced opening for the cord. Through use and friction, the cord cut the PC casing. I didn't notice this until the cord became pinched in its own cut groove. I had tried to glue a small washer onto the opening to remove the friction on the casing, but the glue I used didn't work very long and the washer came off. I am now purchasing a full metal case and likely a metal cord but will have to deal with the constant tension on the cord.

Glad I bought both the carabiner and the clip on. Each comes in handy for different uses. The only thing missing for my uses for both products is to have a lock so the chain doesn't release to the 1st ratchet which it has a tendency to do. But I can't rate it less because I knew it did not have this feature when I bought it.

Like the product. I fish on Hobie Revo 13 kayak and practice CPR(catch, photo, release). The Key Bak Ratcheting carabiner is attached to my camera. The Key Bak gives me piece of mind that I will not camera will not be lost in the deep blue. The Key Bak operates very easy and smoothly. Would recommend the product.

I like it showed it to few people I actually bought 2. The only thing I'm upset about and why I didn't give it 5 stars is because I have only had them a few day and the one I wear on my key chain the rubber tip already came off so I'm disappointed about that. Also a few door handle were to fat for it but I wasn't upset about that the device can't be massive for crazy sized doors. I liked the price seen similar products priced crazy high your price was reasonable.

I like the lightness, the two finger grip (super nice!) and the rubber tip for touchpads. My only wish would be the distance between the grip and the 'pusher' leg be 1/2"-1" longer to keep my hand further away from door levers. Nice product!

The retractable keychain was exactly what I needed. I use it to anchor my wallet to the inside of my purse. You can tell that it's made well and not some cheap, mass produced product. The cut resistant cord is a good detail too. I bought a few in different colors and highly recommend them.
