I've found that the chain/Kevlar thread tends to last 2-3 years then needs replacing. Key-Bak has been good about replacing the key-chain when this happens at no charge. I ordered the black and they sent me the chrome version. Not a big deal.With all the keys I use daily, I don't know how I'd survive without the Key-Bak.

Very smooth and easy pull with good return tension. This is the By far best retractable keychain I have ever used. Good job KEY-BACK.

The best one I could find.

The keeper sometimes gets jammed up a bit in the reel, makes it difficult to draw the cord out. Sticky once in a while, but still a great product.

After 5 grueling years working daily, countless times being washed in the laundry My Keybak finally broke, just goes to show you how long these last! Definitely worth the money! It still works fine I just can’t clip it to my uniform anymore..

Having had one of the original standard duty units for over 10 years it’s proved itself time and time again, even to the extent of stopping me in my tacks when I accidentally got my keys caught. It’s finally broken so I’ve bought a new one.

This is my second one that I’ve purchased. The last one the plastic holder somehow got cut by the cord I’m assuming by it going in and out Frequently. I had it for a year and a half and it broke so I got another one because I like the product I just hope this one last longer.

After a few months use, the cord snapped from the plastic part. I had to tie it. I have limited amount of reeling length now :(

I have used KEY-BAK for years and they keep on working. A solid piece of equipment that I do not have to worry about at all while accessing all the doors and areas in my facility!

I ordered the Key-Bak 36" Kevlar cord Carabiner 13 oz. It was exactly what I wanted. Tough and sturdy and I do not have to take my keys off my belt loop to open doors, etc. I ordered also the Carabiner Key Ring, the same one I had for many years. Great products.

We use them to keep up with PPE LOCKS and LOCKOUT TAG OUT KEYs. They are great lanyards that are sturdy and good for the long haul

I like this product. I used it to cheat my busy forgetfulness. I used it to tether my Leatherman multi-function tool. This forced me to ensure that I would not lose my tool after setting it down while busy with other things. Setting it down on the bumper of an RV is a sure way to lose it. After use I would put the tool in my pocket still tethered firmly on my belt and go about my day. The locking mechanism provides plenty of range for use without tension. The feature that would make this an undisputed excellent product is a reinforced opening for the cord. Through use and friction, the cord cut the PC casing. I didn't notice this until the cord became pinched in its own cut groove. I had tried to glue a small washer onto the opening to remove the friction on the casing, but the glue I used didn't work very long and the washer came off. I am now purchasing a full metal case and likely a metal cord but will have to deal with the constant tension on the cord.

Glad I bought both the carabiner and the clip on. Each comes in handy for different uses. The only thing missing for my uses for both products is to have a lock so the chain doesn't release to the 1st ratchet which it has a tendency to do. But I can't rate it less because I knew it did not have this feature when I bought it.

it appears to be well made and functional... I would like a little more tension in the lead so it doesn't payout on it's own...

Like the product. I fish on Hobie Revo 13 kayak and practice CPR(catch, photo, release). The Key Bak Ratcheting carabiner is attached to my camera. The Key Bak gives me piece of mind that I will not camera will not be lost in the deep blue. The Key Bak operates very easy and smoothly. Would recommend the product.

This item is unique as it locks and it is very helpful.

Wanted to add to my previous review that the ratcheting lock works great and is helpful that you can easily use without the pull of the retraction.

A little bigger then I expected but I got use to it and love it will share with friend to get on holds my truck keys as I’m a trucker and easy to retract and use when opening my doors and side boxes. Keep up the good work
