Dropped Object Prevention Standards are Coming Q1 2018

The International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA) is developing a new standard for Dropped Object Prevention (DOP). Standards drafted by ISEA product groups become American National Standards through a consensus process that involves reviewers outside the association with the goal of acceptance by American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

This process involves several key functional groups:

  • Producers or manufacturers of DOP Products
  • Users, purchasers or those who specify DOP Products
  • Government Liaisons that have regulatory or other interests in DOP
  • Other groups who have interest in DOP standards due to safety, technical or other requirements including subject matter experts

Known as ISEA/ANSI 121, this standard aims to, “establish minimum design, performance, testing and labeling requirements for solutions that reduce dropped objects incidents in industrial and occupational settings.”

Below, find out news on the what has just been completed, what is the current action being taken, and what are the next steps in the journey to a new American National Standard on Dropped Object Prevention.
