The key retractor that got KEY-BAK started in 1948, the Original Series retractable key chain is a heavy duty key reel that is guaranteed to outlast the competition. The Original Series retractable key chain is popular because of its vintage look and the flexibility of customizing the reel to your specifications. Choose either the retractable 24" vintage steel chain or the retractable cord made with DuPont™ Kevlar® fiber. Next, choose between a classic cold-rolled steel chrome plated front or a more inconspicuous black vinyl cover. Lastly, choose how you'd like to secure the key reel to your side, with either a stationary steel belt clip, a steel belt loop, removable rotating belt clip or a leather duty belt loop. Although it is often copied, there has still never been another retractable key reel that matches the quality, durability or versatility of the Original KEY-BAK Retractable Key Chain.

STAINLESS steel chain
The retractable 24" vintage steel chain option on the Original Series retractable key chain hasn't changed in over 70 years and every link is still made on the same machines.
STEEL BELT CLIP OR BELT LOOP
The Original Series retractable key holder has two stainless steel attachment options. The stainless steel belt clip is 2" long and easily clips onto most belts. The stainless steel belt loop option allows belts 1.75" wide and up to 3/16" thick to fit through the loop to secure the reel to your hip.
REMOVABLE ROTATING BELT CLIP
The removable rotating belt clip on the Original Series retractable key chain is a two piece clip that allows you to remove the retractable key reel without taking the clip off your side. Simply give the reel a quarter turn in either direction and lift up, the reel will lift off while leaving the clip securely at your side.
DUTY BELT LEATHER LOOP
The leather loop attachment option on the Original series retractable key reel is specifically designed to accommodate 2 1/4" Duty Belts commonly used in Law Enforcement and Security. The leather loop option is only available with a vinyl black front.

The patented ball-joint lock on the SUPER48 Retractable Heavy Duty Key Holder keeps your keys securely at your side while not in use. I've had the previous incarnation of this KEY-BAK for over a decade. I finally wore out the cord. I've been using the new,improved SUPER48 Plus Ambidextrous Heavy Duty Retractable Keychain for a couple of weeks and I am impressed. The double-sided exits
(Ambidextrous) are a major improvement, and the bigger locking belt clip easily goes on my widest belts. I expect more than a decade's use of this new one, so it'll be a long time until I'll write my next review. Thank You!

KEY-BAK uses high quality materials to ensure durability. Our SUPER48 Plus Heavy Duty Retractable Keychain's case is actually Polycarbonate, a strong and durable-special plastic.
First appearance seems to be very similar to a regular plastic. Polycarbonate provides excellent impact and weather resistance compared to the average resistance in common plastics. It's been used to make shatter-proof windows, eyeglass lenses and much more- it is a go to for lightweight and durable products.

I like the ptoduct ok but it needs to be a bit stronger. It doesnt always retract after using. It wants to remain extended with my keychain hanging so I have to reengage it to close.
i like the product for the most part. but its massive, and after a week the mechanism is already not working great. sticking in spots and not spooling back properly. will be looking into other products for my needs.

I like this product. I used it to cheat my busy forgetfulness. I used it to tether my Leatherman multi-function tool. This forced me to ensure that I would not lose my tool after setting it down while busy with other things. Setting it down on the bumper of an RV is a sure way to lose it. After use I would put the tool in my pocket still tethered firmly on my belt and go about my day. The locking mechanism provides plenty of range for use without tension. The feature that would make this an undisputed excellent product is a reinforced opening for the cord. Through use and friction, the cord cut the PC casing. I didn't notice this until the cord became pinched in its own cut groove. I had tried to glue a small washer onto the opening to remove the friction on the casing, but the glue I used didn't work very long and the washer came off. I am now purchasing a full metal case and likely a metal cord but will have to deal with the constant tension on the cord.
Glad I bought both the carabiner and the clip on. Each comes in handy for different uses. The only thing missing for my uses for both products is to have a lock so the chain doesn't release to the 1st ratchet which it has a tendency to do. But I can't rate it less because I knew it did not have this feature when I bought it.
it appears to be well made and functional... I would like a little more tension in the lead so it doesn't payout on it's own...
Like the product. I fish on Hobie Revo 13 kayak and practice CPR(catch, photo, release). The Key Bak Ratcheting carabiner is attached to my camera. The Key Bak gives me piece of mind that I will not camera will not be lost in the deep blue. The Key Bak operates very easy and smoothly. Would recommend the product.
This item is unique as it locks and it is very helpful.
